30 St Mary Axe, more commonly known as ‘The Gherkin’ stands at 179.8m tall with 41 floors. Built in 2004 by Norman Foster & Partners the architect of many famous constructions including the worlds tallest bridge, the Millau Viaduct, part of the New World Trade Centre, 200 Greenwich Street, London City Hall and countless more. The building is the Head Quarters of the company Swiss Re. The building is the first environmentally sustainable skyscraper in London. The building has one countless awards including Emporis Skyscraper Award, RIBA Award winner 2004, 2004 RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture and many more.
